Once you are comfortable using GNS3, creating the labs and everything else will be easy. I would first learn how to download and set up GNS3 correctly, David has videos for that, and then begin playing. You can also download the images Cisco provide for VIRL.ĭavid Bombal is a CCIE who works very closely with GNS3 and has made a lot (and I mean hundreds) of videos of tutorials and 'how to's' for GNS3. For the routers, you will need the IOS images, however they are Cisco's intellectual property and so you need to legally obtain them, it would be illegal to just Google "GNS3 Cisco IOS" and download them from one of the many locations a search may find, so I am telling you not to do that, however you are an individual and probably have access to Google, and I can't supervise you all the time.įor the ASA, it's the same as the images, however on the GNS3 website in the Market Place you can download an ASAv which will work fine (you can also get s 3640 router among many other things).
